With the recent release of LEGO Star Wars 40658 Millennium Falcon Holiday Diorama, Blocks has decided to customise this Life Day party – and it’s super eays, even if you’re not strong with the Force of creativity!
With the galaxy coming together in peace and harmony for the holiday season, or Life Day as it’s called in the Star Wars universe, there’s a cosy Christmas party on the Millennium Falcon. The beloved hunk of junk has had a holiday makeover – the metal halls are decked with lights and garlands, while Chewie cooks up a feast. He promises it’s not roast porg! But there’s not many guests for Rey to host and BB-8 can’t exactly enjoy the eggnog.
Thankfully there are a bunch of festive Star Wars minifigures to help make this diorama even more bright and cheerful. Blocks, the LEGO magazine for fans, has come up with a guide to help you customise this set…

Let’s start with some extra droids for BB-8 to play Christmas games with. C-3PO and R2-D2 are stalwarts of the LEGO Star Wars advent calendars from across the years and there’s no shortage of variants. The ones that really fit this diorama though are the 2022 versions from 75340 Star Wars Advent Calendar, where both have unique Christmas jumpers very similar to the one Rey is sporting. Maybe it’s the dress code?
Don’t forget that Blocks magazine makes a great last-minute Christmas gift!

It’s pretty easy to swap out any regular Star Wars character torso with some festive outfit, so you can easily take parts from the City or Icons ranges. Stormtroopers can wear scarves, droids can wear bobble hats, or Han Solo can be Santa. However, what is really useful about the advent calendars is that the torsos are specifically themed to a galaxy far, far away. Poe Dameron is a perfect example. In 75279 Star Wars Advent Calendar from 2020 he’s wearing a BB-8 patterned jumper surrounded by snowflakes, so looks great next to Finn.
Blocks even has a great stocking filler for you to check out!

What about if you’re a Reylo? A lot of LEGO fans were a little disappointed that 40658 Millennium Falcon Holiday Diorama didn’t include a Kylo Ren/Ben Solo minifigure, but there is a way to give Rey the other half of her Dyad. First you need a Kylo Ren minifigure from a set, preferably one with his face rather than his mask, and then you just need to swap his shirt for Darth Vader’s jumper, which is also found in 75279 Star Wars Advent Calendar. It’s bright red and features the Death Star, which is definitely something anyone from the First Order would wear.
Don’t miss out on the Blocks exclusive Christmas minifigure!

There is really no limit to which minifigures can be added to 40658 or what they wear for this holiday party. While the advent calendars provide a great starting place, especially for in-universe references, it’s possible to take elements from almost anywhere. Polybags like the latest 40609 Christmas Fun VIP Add-On Pack are a great starting place for finding pieces to customise and personalise this set.

40658 Millennium Falcon Holiday Diorama is a great starting point that Star Wars fans can easily make their own through favourite characters, more food, or even buying two so there’s enough room for Chewie’s home cooked feast. Maybe Grogu and Din Djarin can even bring the presents? If you’re customising this set for a holiday display then remember to tag Blocks on any of our social media channels – we’d love to see who’s partying together on the Falcon!
