For the eighth year running, the LEGO Group was the UK’s number one toy manufacturer in 2022. The company attended UK Toy Fair to look ahead to 2023 and take orders from retailers.
NPD data confirms that the LEGO Group was the UK’s best-selling toy manufacturer again in 2022. Two LEGO products were in the list of top 10 best-selling toys for the year.
One of the changes for the 2023 product range is the new cast of characters taking centre stage in LEGO Friends – you can read all about that in Blocks magazine Issue 99. The theme’s new 41728 Heartlake Downtown Diner set has been selected as one of Toy Fair’s Hero Toy winners.

Upgrade your LEGO hobby! If you take out a subscription to Blocks, the monthly LEGO magazine, you’ll get each issue first and at a discount, plus other perks including a free digital subscription and the chance to win LEGO prizes every month.
Plans for the year are secretive for now, but LEGO City will offer a new series of Challenge videos on YouTube, there’ll be a collaboration with Comic Relief to support creativity in schools and there’ll be special activity to celebrate 100 years of Disney. A new London store will open at Battersea Power Station this spring.
‘It has been fantastic to see how much LEGO play continued to be loved by kids and families across the UK in our 90th year,’ says LEGO UK and Ireland Head of Marketing Isobel Graham. ‘We’ve got even more to look forward to this year with an incredibly strong portfolio of products for builders of all ages, great partnerships and innovative campaigns and I can’t wait to reveal more over the coming weeks and months.’
