Nikolas Nurdblok and the Lost Brick kicks off new LEGO fiction publishing

DK’s new line of LEGO fiction titles begins with the hardback Nikolas Nurdblok and the Lost Brick, authored by Jeffrey Brown.

Jeffrey Brown, best known for his Star Wars Darth Vader and Son illustrated children’s book, is bringing his licensed fiction credentials to a new run of fiction books that DK is publishing under its DK flip imprint. These will complement the publisher’s existing non-fiction reference and build inspiration LEGO titles.

LEGO Nikolas Nurdblok and the Lost Brick will launch on October 27 in hardcover. It is intended for children aged seven and over.

In the book, it’s finally time for youngest child Nikolas Nurdblok to join the rest of his family on an adventure. After a few mishaps that the well-intentioned Nik causes, his family set off to find a legendary lost brick without him. His parents did not tell him to stay behind, they just said that he couldn’t go with them. Nik and his loyal best friend Knute embark on an escapade that will (probably) change the world. Nik discovers that he might not be able to take on the challenge by himself…

The book is described by the publisher and the LEGO Group as ‘a highly illustrated adventure full of laugh-out-loud moments, creative building and the occasional alligator.’ To encourage comparison with other titles, they suggest the book will appeal to readers who enjoy Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dog Man and The 13-Story Treehouse.
