The perfect LEGO sets for K-Pop Demon Hunters fans

As K-Pop Demon Hunters tops the charts on Netflix and has everyone dancing to My Little Soda Pop, Blocks picks out sets to match your latest obsession.

Smashing the charts with its insanely catchy songs and adorable tiger sidekick, K-Pop Demon Hunters is the latest animated sensation from Netflix. It follows the story of Rumi, Mira and Zoey as they try to restore the sacred Honmoon and banish demons from their world – through K-pop songs. As everyone dances to My Little Soda Pop and obsesses over the Saja Boys, there’s been plenty of accompanying merch already including vinyls and plushies.

And while there might not be official LEGO sets (here’s hoping!), Blocks is donning our hanboks to guide you through sets that fit the K-Pop Demon Hunters style…

21339 BTS Dynamite

So this one is pretty obvious as it’s currently the only LEGO set inspired by an actual K-pop band. 21339 BTS Dynamite is based on one of the group’s most iconic songs and the accompanying music video. It’s a great one to hunt down on resale because the Saja Boys were inspired by a few K-pop idols including BTS. The animators used references of Jimin’s costumes and makeup looks when designing Baby Saja and Romance.

31129 Majestic Tiger

Are you still obsessed with Derpy? He might not be the main character on screen but this adorable tiger inspired by Korean minhwa artwork has stolen fans hearts with his cute clumsiness. 31129 Majestic Tiger isn’t blue but it would be relatively easy to swap out a lot of the tiles to make this model shades of blue to match his fur. You could even make him a little matching hat like Jinu tries before the magpie steals it.

42639 Andrea’s Modern Mansion

A key theme of K-Pop Demon Hunters is the friendship between Rumi, Mira, and Zoey. The girls live together, perform together, and eat ramyeon together. Although this set isn’t quite the skyscraper Huntr/x live in when not on stage, 42639 Andrea’s Modern Mansion captures the modern style of their home. There’s a rooftop garden for late night snacking, a large bedroom like Rinu uses, and in the basement there’s a sound recording studio which is perfect for the K-pop stars to write their music.

42661 Costume Party with Unicorn & Fairy

Another LEGO Friends set that passes the vibe check is 42661 Costume Party with Unicorn & Fairy. It captures the colourful costuming that Huntr/x wears throughout the film and how each song has its own particular look. The accompanying DJ booth also feels like something that could be from a K-pop music video, especially as it is all themed around clouds and rainbows. There was even a K-pop group called Unicorn and it seems surprisingly reminiscent of their music video for their eponymous song.

71045 Harpy or 71048 Bogeyman

These are both Collectible Minifigures, 71045 Series 25 and 71048 Series 27. They both have brilliant purplish designs to suggest monstrous forms and this is very similar to the demons in the film. There were a range of demon forms under the rule of the villainous Gwi-Ma, and they all had dark red, blue, or purple animated designs. Either of these minifigures would be perfect for roleplaying a Take Down by Huntr/x.

And that’s How It’s Done (yes, still getting songs into this article) if you want to get LEGO sets to customise into K-Pop Demon Hunters models or create stories set within the world. It would be absolutely amazing if this film managed to inspire a future LEGO Ideas set and if you’re building anything based on it then tag us on any of the Blocks social media channels!
