LEGO Ideas has unveiled set number 67 in the fan driven theme – 21359 Italian Riviera, offering a slice of Mediterranean life in LEGO brick form.
21359 Italian Riviera, a LEGO Ideas set, will come with 3,251 pieces for £249.99 / $299.99 / €279.99 and will release on August 7 on LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores. If you purchase the set between August 7 and 13, you’ll receive 5009325 Mediterranean Scene as a free gift.
The model is the latest set from LEGO Ideas and the sixth set to come from the theme this year. 21354 Twilight: Cullen House kicked off 2025, then 21357 Disney Pixar Luxo Jr. and 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine have been the two most recent releases for the theme this year.
21359 Italian Riviera creates a slice of a cosy Mediterranean fishing village, nestled into the picturesque cliffs of — you guessed it — the Italian Riviera. The set serves as an artistic rendition of the iconic coast, capturing the buildings’ bright colours, the narrow streets and, of course, the crisp, blue sea.

As a LEGO Ideas set, the project began life as a fan design submitted by LEGO Ideas user Alex Sahli. “I’ve always been passionate about travel, and Italy stands out as my favourite destination,” Alex said, speaking about what led him to create the project. “Its blend of natural landscapes and architectural beauty is truly inspiring. My submission is centred around the villages the Cinque Terre, with some influence drawn from the Amalfi Coast.”
The final product changed a fair bit from the initial design Alex submitted to LEGO Ideas, as is typical for sets from the theme, but the core of 21359 Italian Riviera remains true to Alex’s vision.
Three buildings were present in the fan design, and all three make it in to the final set — though one did get a bit of a colour swap. Some building techniques and details were changed out for others, giving the official set a distinct feel from the fan design. The biggest change visible in the images released so far is the removal of the small beach in favour of more cobbled streets and space for the sea. Fans looking to do a bit of lounging in the sand might be disappointed by this change, but the final design remains accurate to the look of real Italian Riviera towns.
The village’s three buildings come with fitting details, from a gelato store, a diving equipment shop and a fish market. Upper storeys are dedicated to the homes of the shopkeepers and their families, giving 21359 Italian Riviera a proper, local feel.
Modular-style construction is employed to grant access to the fully detailed interiors, with each floor being removable and built to about the same height as a LEGO modular building. Though modular collectors won’t be able to add this set to a modular layout, as the brick-built base prevents it from slotting next to any modular sets. But the Riviera’s real isolated location makes the solitary display of this model feel well intentioned.
Ten minifigures populate the remote village, with workers for all the shops and local people to fill out a tourist-free scene. Well, except for one guy on the dock who looks eager to snap a few shots for the scrapbook.
