The LEGO Group announces new US headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts

The LEGO Group’s US headquarters will relocate to 1001 Boylston Street in Boston, Massachusetts, between 2025 and 2026.

Over the years, the LEGO Group has significantly reduced the company’s presence in Enfield, Connecticut. Earlier this year, the company confirmed that the headquarters would be moving to Boston and now the specific location has been announced as 1001 Boylston Street.

The new office space is 100,000 square feet across five floors. Boston is of course very well connected, it has been selected as the LEGO Group continues to grow and seeks to attract the best talent. The press release also noted that many other ‘innovative’ companies have headquarters in the city.

‘We’re incredibly excited to be moving to a new location with such a rich history, ideally located in Back Bay, between Boston and Cambridge,’ says President of the LEGO Group in the Americas Skip Kodak. ‘1001 Boylston Street represents an investment in our future and a commitment to our employees. We believe that a modern, collaborative work environment will help creativity and innovation thrive, and we’re excited to see what we can accomplish in this new space.

‘This move aligns with our long-term growth strategy and underscores our commitment to remaining at the forefront of innovation. Boston is one of the United States’ most liveable cities, with world class arts and leisure activities, education and research partners, and a thriving business community. Our move to 1001 Boylston Street ensures that we can continue our mission to bring LEGO play to even more children in the US and the Americas region.’

The new office building promises mixed spaces, with some designed for work and some designed for collaboration. As should be expected, the building will be accessible. Employees will start to move to 1001 Boylston Street in mid-2025 and the transition will be complete by the end of 2026. It’s a difficult time for those employees who have made their home in Enfield and the surrounding area, especially those who have worked at the company for many years.
