LEGO Technic has unveiled 42232 Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar and broken a big build car speed record to celebrate.
The LEGO Group has built a life-sized Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear that actually drives – and it has broken a record by hitting 111km/h at Goodwood Hill.
42232 Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar is an impressive looking new LEGO Technic Ultimate Car Concept Series set at 1:8 scale – but the LEGO Group has gone beyond a detailed set for fans to build and constructed a life size version.
The full size, drivable version of Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear is constructed from 327,906 LEGO elements and weighs approximately 1,800kg – of which 400kg is LEGO elements. The designers, engineers and builders spent 9,400 hours developing and constructing it.

It has a lightweight body built entirely of LEGO Technic elements, working Ghost Mode and the signature Koenigsegg key.
To mark the release of 42232 Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar, Koenigsegg Test Driver Markus Lundh drove the car at the Goodwood estate and reached 111 km/h, more than double the previous record of 50 km/h.
The car took on the legendary hill and reached the top speed when taking it in reverse.
“Innovation and extreme performance are at the core of everything we do,” says Koenigsegg CEO Christian von Koenigsegg. “To see the Sadair’s Spear recreated not only as a highly detailed 1:8 scale LEGO Technic model, but also as a full-scale, drivable vehicle, is truly remarkable. Our partnership with the LEGO Group demonstrates how a shared passion for engineering and creativity can result in something extraordinary.”
“Getting the chance to take the driver’s seat of this life-size LEGO Technic build was an incredible privilege,” adds Markus. “It really did feel like I was handling a real Koenigsegg, bringing back memories of setting the speed record at Goodwood in the Sadair’s Spear in July 2025. It was awesome to set another record on this iconic course – a true testament to the level of engineering the LEGO Technic team has achieved.”
