After years of work, a revitalised London’s Battersea Power Station is home to a shopping centre – and a new LEGO Store is now part of it.
Today, a new LEGO Store is opening in London’s Battersea Power Station. The iconic landmark was a coal-fired power station until it closed down, but has now been redeveloped as a district for shopping, leisure and riverside living.
With the shopping centre paying attention to the building’s history, the LEGO Store has unique monochrome logo on the front and bespoke details inside that pay homage to the location. Everything fans is expect is there too – the full product range, exclusive sets, Build a Minifigure, Pick a Brick wall and hands-on build activities.
For the next few days, 40528 LEGO Brand Retail Store is free with purchases that total £120 or more – that’s running until May 28.
- Then from May 30 until June 1, there’s a free LEGO Battersea tote bag for anyone spending £50 or more.
- Until June 3, you can also get 40589 Pirate Ship Playground for free with a £95 spend – it stacks with the other deals.
- There’s also a make and take activity that’s free to participate in on Saturday, May 27 from 10.00am until 12.00pm, and Sunday, May 28 from 12.00pm until 2.00pm. The build is an exclusive mini model of Battersea Power Station.

This store is dominated by a 108,291 LEGO brick feature wall that depicts Battersea Power Station – complete with flying pig! A smaller build recreates the iconic landmark using 14,500 LEGO bricks.
‘We’re always so excited to bring new LEGO Stores to local communities and it’s going to be very special to open this one in the iconic Battersea Power Station,’ says Amy Pearson, Director, EMEA Marketing at LEGO Retail. ‘We’ve had a fantastic response already and we look forward to the official opening later on, to welcome more LEGO fans from across the capital and beyond to experience what the store has to offer, which includes brilliant LEGO play experiences for all ages and a range of much-loved sets.’
‘As the LEGO Group’s first store south of the River Thames, there has been much excitement locally around this opening and it will be great to see the official launch today, allowing fans to enjoy this new addition to the Power Station,’ adds Sam Cotton, Head of Asset Management at Battersea Power Station Development Company (BPSDC). ‘The building’s presence throughout the store design with the big build of Battersea Power Station and interactive mosaic wall make it truly unique and a must visit for all LEGO fans of all ages.’
