The LEGO Group has teamed up with Hasbro to release Transformers 10302 Optimus Prime and Blocks, the LEGO magazine for fans, is celebrating the epic AutoBLOCK in Issue 93. There are insights from the designers of the enormous Robot in Disguise and a review of the model.
The latest issue of Blocks, the LEGO magazine for fans, is available now. Anyone who takes out a print subscription by August 3, 2022 will also be in with a chance of winning their own 10302 Optimus Prime.
No LEGO fan dared to dream LEGO Transformers would actually happen, yet 10302 Optimus Prime is a real set that has actually launched. To mark this momentous occasion, LEGO Senior Designer Joseph Patrick Kyde and Design Master Yoel Mazur discuss their process, before we build the set ourselves to see if it measured up.
Prime is nowhere near the LEGO Group’s first mech and we’re going back to the first time the designers went mech-crazy with the anime-inspired Exo-Force theme. Classic sets are revisited, memories are shared and there’s a new take on a walking turret.

Going much further back in time, Blocks continues to mark the LEGO Group’s 90th anniversary by telling the full story of how Ole Kirk Kristiansen started making toys – even if you think you know this one, we’re confident that there are twists and turns that you won’t have heard before.
A modern LEGO set gets converted into a blast from the past, with a guide to reimagining Buzz Lightyear’s spaceship as a Classic Space spaceship. There’s also a look at Serious Play, the application of LEGO elements as a training tool for companies looking to find a unique way of approaching communication.
The rest of the 116 pages include a review of Marvel Baby Groot, a look at LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog with the model designer, a report from Star Wars Celebration Aneheim and much, much more.
