The LEGO Group is taking time to consider releasing an iMac G3 set inspired by a fan concept.
LEGO Ideas is the platform where fans can inspire official sets – Terauma submitted a model inspired by the Apple iMac G3. Another 10,000 users voted for the build, which propelled into consideration for release as an actual model to buy and build.
It’s now in the Parking Lot – the place where model concepts sits while the LEGO Group evaluation board take extra time to make a decision.
The computer debuted in 1998 and the fan builder has fond memories of playing games on it. The model uses approximately 700 pieces. It features key aspects of the real machine, including the cathode ray tube and board.

Terauma is the fan designer behind 21361 Gremlins: Gizmo. “I was familiar with its design,” they said about the iMac G3 build. “I don’t have it now, so I used images on the internet as reference. The disassembled images helped me understand the internal structure.
“It would be too big in its original size, so I built it a little smaller. I used the windscreen parts used on the sides as a reference for determining the size. I needed to use a large windscreen part to be able to see inside.”
Three new sets have been announced from the third 2025 review – Kimonos, Jumanji and Universal Monsters. Three additional model ideas have been placed in the Parking Lot: Hollow Knight – A Journey to Hallownest, Naruto: Ichiraku Ramen Shop and Bob’s Burgers: Grand Re-opening.
