The LEGO Group is keeping the decision open on whether or not to release an official LEGO Hollow Knight – A Journey to Hallownest set.
Hollow Knight – A Journey to Hallownest is being considered for an official buildable LEGO set. The Ideas user known as PingouinRainbowDash submitted the concept and it gained 10,000 votes from other fans – now it has had its review extended by the LEGO Group and is in ‘the Parking Lot’. Several other designs have been placed there and then been announced for release.
The video game Hollow Knight debuted in 2017. The Metroidvania game was developed and published by Team Cherry. It follows The Knight, an insectoid warrior, who explores Hallownest – a once great kingdom plagued by a supernatural disease.
It is set in various subterranean locations, with both friendly and hostile insectoid characters to interact with, and of course dangerous bosses. You unlock new abilities as you explore, with new lore to discover throughout the kingdom.

“Hollow Knight is my favourite video game,” PingouinRainbowDash told the LEGO Group. “The design, the gameplay, the soundtrack… my wife and I spent hours and hours playing it without ever getting tired. And since the sequel was taking so long to come out, I started creating this MOC to pass the time. A few days after I posted my creation on LEGO Ideas, Hollow Knight: Silksong was announced. Perfect timing.”
The concept model is built in a modular way with 2,099 pieces. It features four regions from the game – Dirtmouth, Forgotten Crossroads, Greenpath and Crystal Peak.
“The build was spread over several weeks, an hour here and there,” PingouinRainbowDash said of the build process. “The first module, Dirtmouth, took quite a while to make, but the others were easier and faster. And about the promotion, I only made a short video on TikTok, and the hype around the release of Silksong did the rest.”
Three new sets have been announced from the third 2025 review – Kimonos, Jumanji and Universal Monsters.
