21361 Gremlins: Gizmo IS going to be for sale very soon, as LEGO Ideas delivers the 1980s movie icon as an official set.
It’s time to see if you have it in you to look after a Mogwai. LEGO Ideas 21361 Gremlins: Gizmo will launch on October 1, made up of 1,125 pieces and priced at £89.99 / $109.99 / €99.99.
The set is inspired by a concept model from LEGO fan terauma. Early in 2024, LEGO Ideas launched a contest titled If We Could Turn Back Time and asked users to build models inspired by the 1980s, based on retro shows and films. Gizmo was one such submission and has since been through the official LEGO design process.

Gremlins was released in 1984, written by Joe Dante and directed by Chris Columbus. The film balances horror and comedy as it follows the escapades of the Mogwai when Gizmo inadvertently gets wet and more of the critters spawn to wreak havoc. Howard Mandel voiced Gizmo in the movie.
To some extent, the film was influenced by The Gremlins – a Roald Dahl storybook from 1943. By coincidence, 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory was the most recent LEGO Ideas set to be announced, based on the movie inspired by the classic Dahl book. Blocks has been sharing secrets from the model designer behind that set.
The set can be displayed standing or sitting, with adjustable head, ears, arms, hands fingers and feet. It has some similarities to the original fan concept but has also been altered by the professional designers.
Gizmo was released as a minifigure in 2016’s 71256 Gremlins Team Pack from LEGO Dimsenions.
Cute as 21361 Gremlins: Gizmo is, the set has some competition; Star Wars has 75430 Wicket the Ewok and 75403 Grogu with Hover Pram, while Disney has 43249 Stitch and 43269 101 Dalmatians Puppy.
