No golden ticket is required to experience the whimsical world of 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, the LEGO Ideas set inspired by the classic Roald Dahl inspired movie that will launch very soon.
The newest LEGO Ideas set, 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory will come with 2,025 pieces and 9 minifigures for a price of £199.99 / $219.99 / €219.99, releasing on September 15, 2025, in LEGO Stores and on LEGO.com. It includes LEGO characters of Willy Wonka, Charlie Bucket, Grandpa Joe, the Oompa Loompas and more, all ready for an adventure through the dizzying world of Wonka’s factory.
It is inspired by a fan concept that was created by Jody Padulano and Roberto Ceruti. Their model achieved 10,000 votes from fellow users on the LEGO Ideas platform and was then selected for official adaptation and release by the LEGO Group.
21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory is LEGO Ideas’ newest adventure, taking builders to the wacky world of Wonka’s factory. The set is primarily based on the 1971 Gene Wilder cinematic interpretation of Rold Dahl’s classic children’s story, though the set does draw inspiration from other depictions of the beloved tale for some of its details.
The set is held on a brick-built base that contains the delectable chocolate waterfall, running right down into the chocolate river, where Willy Wonka leads the lucky Golden Ticket winners on a tour of his legendary factory. The Wonkatania, so the boat is called, sits as the centrepiece of the display, adding a splash of colour to the very brown chocolate river. It passes under an arching bridge, which isn’t present in the 1971 film; inspiration for the bridge was taken from the 2005 film and had been included in the original fan design, so it worked its way into the final model.

Beyond boatloads of chocolate, the set is littered with all sorts of magical sweets, including flowers made with yellow teacup elements for Willy Wonka to waltz up and have a treat. In addition to brick-built candies, there are also plenty of candy canes and printed lollipops to go around, ensuring everyone’s sweet tooths are satisfied.
The set is primarily a static display piece for minifigures to be posed around and then placed comfortably on the shelf, but there are some play features included. In the original fan design, the chocolate waterfall actually flowed — and that’s something that’s been translated into the final product. While no motor is included as was proposed in the initial product idea, the gloopy falls can be operated via a simple crank mechanism on the back of the set. It is still possible to motorise it yourself via LEGO Powered Up or Power Functions systems.
Willy Wonka’s office can be found in the back of the set, though it is fairly small as the focus of the model is unquestionably the chocolate river and the whimsical details out front.
Willy Wonka is the set’s premiere minifigure, based on Gene Wilder’s iconic performance, and gets a new hat and hair element. He is accompanied by two Oompa Loompas, who each have their own unique face prints, both of which are double-sided.

All the (un)lucky children are included as well: Charlie, Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde and Mike Teevee – and there are of course five Golden Tickets for them. Grandpa Joe is also present, added in to the final set after having been left out of the original concept.
