LEGO Harry Potter Magical Mystery Hunt this weekend

The UK’s London, Cardiff and Edinburgh will host the Magical Mystery Hunt this weekend to celebrate 20 years of LEGO Harry Potter.

LEGO Harry Potter launched 20 years ago and to celebrate there’s a Magical Mystery Hunt this weekend in three UK cities and online. London, Cardiff and Edinburgh will each have a three-foot tall gold coloured, brick built Harry Potter minifigure at the starting point. From there, families must follow and solve clues to unlock three words.

Those three words will unlock the location of the Flying Ford Anglia, with whoever finds it first winning a special LEGO Harry Potter prize bundle.

A virtual experience will offer the same experience for UK fans who don’t live near a capital city.

To get Blocks, the LEGO magazine for fans, every month – at a discount and earlier than the shops – order a 12-month or 24-month subscription. Direct debit payment options are available too; to find out more get in touch via subs@silverbackpublishing.rocks.

It’s billed as running on November 6 and 7, but if the first to find the Anglia wins, who knows how it will actually continue to go for two days.

‘There has certainly been some magical meddling going on across the UK, with our golden minifigures scaled up 25 times and hidden UK-wide for families to find. Whoever has hidden the LEGO Ford Anglia has done a very good job – we can’t find it anywhere so we’re calling all witches, wizards and muggles UK-wide to join in at a city near them, or online, to help us track it down and bring it back safely!’ says the LEGO Group’s Leonora Lennie. ‘We want all families to be able to experience this regardless of where they live, so with our immersive digital offering, they can virtually travel around the UK and join in the LEGO Harry Potter Magical Mystery Hunt.’
