The LEGO Group’s first Peppa Pig experience at LEGOLAND Billund, where children can play in the DUPLO Peppa Pig Playground and see a new puppet show.
LEGO DUPLO is launching new Peppa Pig products this year and is introducing the theme with a new experience at LEGOLAND Billund Resort. Children can enjoy the Peppa Pig Playground, where they’ll find a playground themed to Peppa Pig – known in Denmark as Gurli Gris – as well as a new theatre for puppet shows.
100 big balloons covered the entrance as the first guests were welcomed to Peppa Pig Playground today, the first day that LEGOLAND Billund Resort is open for the 2024 season. Children rushed to see the child-sized replicas of DUPLO Peppa Pig figures, representing the different characters in the beloved preschool show.
‘Opening a new area is always exciting, but being the very first in the world to welcome our guests at this unique combination between the two major toy brands – LEGO DUPLO and Hasbro’s Peppa Pig – makes this opening extra special,’ says LEGOLAND Managing Director a Christian Woller. ‘We are very proud of the result and we believe our guests will love it just as much as we do here at LEGOLAND Billund – it certainly seems like they already approve of it.’
Iconic locations in the area include Peppa’s house, the Pig family’s red car, Grandpa Pig’s boat, Peppa’s Treehouse, and, of course, muddy puddles.
LEGO DUPLO Peppa Pig products will launch later this year. ‘When designing a new LEGO DUPLO series, we always strive to promote imagination and creativity among the youngest children; therefore, I’m thrilled to see how well our latest collaboration and soon-to-be available product with PEPPA PIG has come to life here at LEGOLAND Billund,’ says Head of LEGO DUPLO Michaela Edgerley Šťovíček. ‘It’s like stepping into the LEGO DUPLO PEPPA PIG boxes with one-to-one elements that the children can explore, and after their visit in LEGOLAND, they can build at home with the sets.’

Visitors at the opening saw the first performance of a new puppet show starring Peppa and George. Comfy beanbags allow children to relax while they see the characters perform in front of a digital backdrop that changes through the show. The puppet show will be performed each day in both English and Danish.
