LEGO Architecture is launching a new massive, intricate flagship set – 21063 Neuschwanstein Castle, the first ever representation of the Bavarian landmark in LEGO bricks.
21063 Neuschwanstein Castle will be the next LEGO Architecture set, releasing on August 1, 2025, with 3,455 pieces and a price tag of £239.99 / $279.99 / €269.99.
LEGO Architecture is continuing its trend of larger models depicting some of Europe’s most iconic buildings — 21063 Neuschwanstein Castle is following 21062 Trevi Fountain from earlier this year and 2024’s 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris.
The real Neuschwanstein project got properly underway in 1868, when the ruins of old medieval castles were demolished on the site, with construction beginning later the following year. King Ludwig II — a monarch famous today for his crazed exploits — grew impatient with the seemingly endless construction and moved into an incomplete Neuschwanstein in 1884. Despite it being a tad bit larger than your typical flat, Neuschwanstein didn’t come with any space for the royal court and served only as a residential castle. But even then, Ludwig only lived there for a grand total of 172 days, which can mostly be attributed to his death in 1886.

Grander plans for the castle were thus abandoned, and the remaining construction was simplified, reaching completion near the end of the nineteenth century. With no King Ludwig to reside in the castle, Neuschwanstein opened to public visitors and quickly became a tourist hit, which it remains to this day.
21063 Neuschwanstein Castle builds up the mountain beneath the castle to give the LEGO recreation a proper base to sit on, bringing just enough of the Alpine charm to the set. A handful of slopes and tiles create the long road up to the castle, slotting into the mountainside.
Neuschwanstein itself makes excellent use of slopes and tiny bricks to capture the impressive shaping of the real castle — printed 1×1 rounded tiles add a much-needed bit of detail for the windows that would’ve been impossible to achieve with just bricks and plates at this scale. The clever parts usage LEGO Architecture is known for also appears to be in full force with this model — forks and astromech heads are just a few such examples. Two sets of trees are included, giving builders the choice of summer or autumn foliage, which is always a welcome choice to have.
The finished model will measure 31cm (12in) tall and 46cm (18in) wide, so it will sit comfortably alongside other LEGO Architecture sets in this price range while dwarfing smaller models like the skyline series. It also manages to squeeze in a little interior space, but as a LEGO Architecture set, the primary focus is on the exterior and overall presence of the model.
If you’re interested in picking up a copy of 21063 Neuschwanstein Castle, it will be available from August 1, 2025.
