LEGO 21375 Godzilla is the biggest Ideas set yet

The latest fan-inspired LEGO Ideas set has been announced and it’s the massive 21375 Godzilla, more than 70cm tall and made up of 5,363 elements.

A new model has been announced on Godzilla Day in the long-running LEGO Ideas theme, the collection that allows fans to pitch and vote for the sets they want.

21375 Godzilla is the biggest ever LEGO Ideas set – the 5,363 piece build depicts cinema’s most fearsome kaiju. It will launch on November 27, priced at £349.99 / $449.99 / €399.99.

Those who buy the set quickly at LEGO.com will get the 359 piece 40888 Godzilla Logo & Footprint set for free.

In June 2025, the LEGO Group announced that Matthew Esposito’s concept for a Godzilla set had been chosen to move forward as an official model. Now, the final version, designed by Design Master Markus Rollbühler has been unveiled. It is inspired by the Legendary Pictures Monsterverse depiction of the fearsome cinematic monster.

Once you have built the towering creature, it is in one relatively static pose, but there are two different ways to display the tail. The head, arms, wrists and fingers are all articulated so you can adjust your display to an extent.

“The king of the monsters is a pretty big monster. We felt like we had to do it justice with this scale,” says Ideas Design Manager Jordan Scott. “He is standing over, 70cm tall. My brief to Marcus was 50, so he exceeded that.

“Matt’s original model was quite a lot smaller. It was still based on the Monsterverse version of Godzilla. It was all dark grey, with bits of black and light grey. We really wanted to bring some colour. And of course, everyone knows Godzilla from the heat ray when he lights up, so that’s why we decided to build the fins in this nice kind of gradient of dark blue all the way through to medium azure into the sand blue and then into the dark grey, similar to what 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr had when you have that gradient.”

There is a nod to the fan designer within the model. “We do have a tiny micro scale version of Matt, the fan designer, in the brain, because he was the brains of this model, so we put a couple of bricks to represent him.”

The process of designing such a massive set was not without challenge, as the plan had been for the kaiju to hinge at the hip. “When I tried to demonstrate that in front of a lot of very important people… he shattered into five thousand pieces,” says Jordan. “So that was just not feasible with our joints.”

21375 Godzilla separates into three sections to making moving the model easier. The top part and the tail detach from the lower body.

40888 Godzilla Logo & Footprint will be available for a limited time when 21375 Godzilla debuts, but these bonus freebie sets have a tendency of selling out quickly, so it’s worth ordering early if you want it.

The set builds the Godzilla logo in blue against a destroyed cityscape backdrop featuring rival Mothra atop one of the buildings (newly decorated butterfly piece) and a footprint scaled to match the main model. You can adjust the way the two components are displayed so that it looks sharp no matter how you set the kaiju up.
