LEGO DC is revisiting one of the most iconic locations in the Batman canon with 76300 Arkham Asylum – but this time the home of Gotham’s criminally insane is modular building compatible.
76300 Arkham Asylum is the latest LEGO DC set to be announced and one of just a few Batman sets released this year (fans have recently enjoyed getting their hands on Val Kilmer’s ride with 76304 Batman Forever Batmobile.
This new take on Arkham Asylum stands out as it is modular compatible. It uses 2,953 pieces, includes 16 minifigures and is priced at £269.99 / $299.99 / €299.99. It is available for preorder now ahead of a September 12 release.
To really get to grips with the new model, Blocks Editor Graham E. Hancock and News Writer Ryan Everleth convened for a discussion about their initial take on it, plus a look back at past versions of the iconic prison.
“When I first saw the pictures, I had to do a double take – I was like ‘they actually went modular with it’,” says Ryan.
“It’s so different to what we’ve seen before from Arkham,” Graham agrees.

After discussing the new set, they look back at the LEGO Group’s previous versions of the ominous building:
7785 Arkham Asylum (2006)
10937 Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout (2013)
70912 Arkham Asylum (2017)
“This is one of those to me where if I see this this is the coolest thing ever,” Ryan says of 7785 Arkham Asylum. “All the different sections, you can move it around how you want, it has that classic charm to it. But you put it next to the new one and it looks terrible.”
Of all the sets so far, 76300 Arkham Asylum has one of the more impressive minifigure collections. Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, Catwoman, Riddler, Joker, Harley Quinn, Scarecrow, Killer Croc, Bane and Penguin are all included along with two prison guards and a selection of heroes.
