The next series of LEGO Collectible Minifigures has been revealed — 71053 Shrek Series will let fans collect their favourite fairytale characters, from Puss in Boots to Lord Farquaad.
LEGO Minifigures 71053 Shrek Series will come with 12 mystery minifigures, priced at £3.49 / $4.99 / €3.99 each and due for release on September 1, 2026.
71053 Shrek Series is coming as part of Shrek’s 25th anniversary and ahead of Shrek 5, the first mainline Shrek feature since Shrek Forever After in 2010. Two LEGO Shrek sets have already released — 72423 Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots and 40923 Shrek, Donkey & Gingy.
The new series of Collectible Minifigures includes 12 characters from past Shrek films — since these are releasing well before the new film, there are no Shrek 5-specific characters included. But that means there’s more room for fan favourites from the original films, particularly the first two. And there are more characters coming than you might expect.
Puss in Boots is the only character to currently have a minifigure appearing elsewhere, as it is also included in 72432 Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots. Collectors should be happy to learn that the two Puss in Boots figures are different — the one in the full set is the typical cavaliering feline, while the one present in 71053 Shrek Series depicts him with short legs and his adorableness turned all the way up.

Shrek and Fiona are of course also included, both utilising new head moulds. Fiona comes with Donkey, which is a nice way to work the character into the series given that a strictly minifigure representation of the character would be a little too wacky even for the Shrek universe.
Other fairytale favourites fill out the series nicely, including Pinocchio, Big Bad Wolf, Gingy and Dragon. The Three Blind Mice are included in the same way as Donkey, featured as accessories for Big Bad Wolf, Pinocchio and Puss in Boots.
Merlin makes an appearance as well, representing the slightly less beloved Shrek the Third. Thelonious is the collection’s resident deep-cut character, as the executioner served his role in the first film and has since popped up as a background character in various specials.
Three villains round out the series: Lord Farquaad, Fairy Godmother and Prince Charming. All three come with arm printing, though Lord Farquaad’s accessory steals the show with a “minifigure” version of the Magic Mirror.
All 12 minifigures in 71053 Shrek Series — plus Donkey, the Three Blind Mice and the Magic Mirror — will be available from September 1, 2026, each sold separately in mystery boxes.
