After the recent reveal of the LEGO Star Wars 75367 Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser, Blocks is looking at what other ships from The Clone Wars deserve the Ultimate Collector Series treatment…
Carrying legions of Clone Troopers into battles raging across the galaxy as the Separatists and the Republic clash in numerous star systems, Venator-class attack cruisers are some of the most memorable ships from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. While these juggernauts certainly deserve the epic LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series set 75367 Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser, especially as it featured in all seven seasons of the animated show, they are not the only fan favourite vessel.
With the Separatists having their own distinctive style and plenty of starfighters to choose from, Blocks, the monthly LEGO magazine, is looking at what else from Star Wars: The Clone Wars could work as stunning display pieces.
The Malevolence

A heavy cruiser built in secret by the Separatists and meant to be General Grievous’ flagship, the Malevolence was a giant ship that packed a punch in weaponry. 9515 The Malevolence was a minifigure scaled version that released in 2012, but it hardly captured the true sense of scale this ship demands – and poor General Grievous could hardly fit inside. A UCS set would provide a perfect way to recreate the unique curved angles of the Malevolence, especially with its cannons on either side, and would look amazing on display next to 75367 Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser.
ARC-170 Starfighter

Long before X-wings were used by the Rebel Alliance, the ARC-170 (which stands for aggressive reconnaissance) was the fastest and most manoeuvrable starfighter in the Republic fleet. It took three specialised Clone Trooper pilots to fly this ship and they usually went up against the Vulture droids of the Separatists. While they are more complicated than an X-wing, the LEGO designers could use a similar technique for the six wings and deliver this fighter as if it’s ready for battle.

Delta-7B Aethersprite

While it might be a bit of a mouthful, the Aethersprite is the Jedi Starfighter that Ahsoka Tano uses whenever she’s flying during The Clone Wars. Which is quite a bit when she’s teamed up with Anakin. Its arrow-head shape would be able to be translated through plenty of dark red angled bricks, while white tiling could suggest the Jedi Order logo emblazoned across it. Plus, it would provide an opportunity for a new minifigure ealy era version of Ahsoka without the big, bug eyes.
Anakin’s Eta-2 Jedi Starfighter

Seen throughout The Clone Wars and the same ship that Anakin Skywalker uses to fly to Mustafar in Revenge of the Sith, the Eta-2 has never been recreated as a UCS set. With a bright yellow colour scheme it would certainly be a bit more eye-catching than a lot of the Star Wars greys. The front facing wings would be trickiest part to recreate, as they feature some odd angles as they cut in between the forward cannons. It would also probably require a new moulded element for the rounded cockpit. As for minifigures it could use two versions of Anakin – one from early in The Clone Wars and then a later Mustafar version.
With Star Wars: Ahsoka reigniting so much love for the Clone Wars and 75367 Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser being received very well by fans, hopefully there will be more UCS sets based on the animated show coming in the future.
