The LEGO Group sees record growth in first half of 2026

The LEGO Group has released the company’s financial results for the first half of 2026, reporting a 32% increase in net profit and a 22% increase in consumer sales, highlighting the company’s continued success and growing market share.

Increases in revenue, profit and market share are nothing new for the LEGO Group, but the company’s financial results for the first half of 2026 surprise due to just how massive the increases are — you are hard pressed to find one below 20%.

The numbers in the LEGO Group’s financial report for the first half of 2026 are compared against those from the first half of 2025, providing percentages to highlight the company’s performance in the current period compared to last.

2025’s numbers were nothing to scoff at, but they almost seem puny next to the reported numbers for so far in 2026.

Revenue increased 21% (26% in constant currency), hitting DKK 41.9 billion — that’s £4.7 billion pounds. 2025’s first-half revenue was DKK 34.6 billion, or £3.9 billion.

This staggering increase in revenue was spurred by increased sales in the Americas, Western Europe, CEEMEA (Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa), and Asia Pacific. So just about everywhere. As a percentage, consumer sales grew 22%.

Top-performing themes included all the usual stalwarts of Star Wars, Icons, Technic, Speed Champions and Botanicals. Newer licenses for Formula 1, FIFA and K-Pop Demon Hunters were also cited as driving high consumer interest. The 15th anniversary of NINJAGO is also cited, the theme having become the longest-running ‘homegrown entertainment IP’ (presumably to distinguish it from City) in the company’s history.

Operating profit grew by 22%, reaching DKK 10.9 billion (£1.2 billion). The LEGO Group report strong top-line performance, scale efficiencies and productivity initiatives as contributing to the increase. Net profit then grew by a whopping 32% to DKK 8.6 billion (£984 million), compared to last year’s DKK 6.5 billion.

Cash flow was also up, thanks to investments in a new factory and upgrades to existing infrastructure. TheLEGO Group invested in acquiring LEGOLAND Discovery Centres from Merlin Entertainments. The company also opened new LEGO brand stores to bring the worldwide total to 1,106.

“We are very pleased with our strong start to 2026 and the excitement we see for the LEGO brand,” says CEO Niels B Christiansen. “Our portfolio of products offers something for everyone and culturally relevant brand experiences continue to drive demand across the globe. Our success in the market means we can maintain high investment levels in growth and sustainability for both the short and long term. It’s been a real highlight to see the passion and commitment of our 34,000 colleagues in our organisation who work to inspire kids and fans everywhere.”

The LEGO Group is continuing to invest in its sustainability initiatives, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and non-renewable materials in its factories. The share of renewable and recycled material used in LEGO bricks increased and the company made progress towards the full implementation of part paper bags in sets. A project has broken ground in Billund that will see the installation of 160,000 solar panels to match the LEGO Group’s energy needs in its hometown.

The company continues to expand, this year opening a new manufacturing innovation centre in Billund and aiming to open a new factory in Virginia, USA, in 2027. It’s certainly an exciting time to be a fan of the brick.
