The best prehistoric references in the new LEGO Jurassic World Rebirth sets

With the LEGO Jurassic World Rebirth sets on the way as the latest dinosaurs to easily break through fences, here are some of the prehistoric references in the new boxes…

“I’m sorry, what mission?” Doctor Henry Loomis asks when he’s tasked to lead a team to visit the deadliest Jurassic Park island for life-changing DNA science. It’s a plot that sounds as fantastical as the films that have come before, but this time with a lot of new dinosaurs. As for some reason this DNA can only come from the biggest dinosaurs to ever roam the earth. Titanosaurs, spinosaurus, mosasaurus and more are going to be chasing after these unprepared researchers.

Jurassic World Rebirth is directed by Gareth Edwards and will arrive in cinemas on July 2. The new LEGO Jurassic World Rebirth sets will launch on June 1.

These new LEGO models are bringing to life a plethora of dinosaurs (barely any of which are from the Jurassic) that have never been seen before in LEGO sets, making this wave a standout prehistoric experience. Blocks, the monthly LEGO magazine for fans, is jumping into a Ford Discovery to bravely adventure through some of the Easter eggs within…

Extreme fishing

Remember in Jurassic World the giant aquatic dinosaur that jumped out of the water in order to feed? It appeared absolutely deadly and when the park fell to ruin, running to the water was not a safe option. That was the first time the mosasaurus appeared on screen and 76974 Brick-Built Mosasaurus Boat Mission is the first ever brick-built dinosaur that’s an aquatic specialist. While it doesn’t quite capture all 50 feet of the mosasaurus, it is still well scaled compared to the boat.

Step aside diplodocus

While diplodocus was the iconic sauropod inspiring jokes in Jurassic Park, they were not the biggest herbivorous dinosaur. That title technically goes to the titanosaurus. If it actually exists. There’s a lot of debate surrounding the fossils that have been discovered and the current evidence isn’t enough to piece together titanosaurus as a distinct species. At least there’s this LEGO version in 76973 Raptor & Titanosaurus Tracking Mission

‘I would like to see the baby’

It’s fair to say the the original Jurassic Park films didn’t focus on the nurturing side of dinosaurs. They portrayed these creatures as absolutely deadly and vicious. Yet through more study, it seems like many dinosaurs were good parents, which is something the Jurassic World series has attempted to capture – especially in animation. 76970 Baby Dinosaur Dolores: Aquilops is adding another adorable LEGO baby dinosaur to break the internet.

The spinosaurus strikes back

Terrorising the main characters throughout Jurassic Park III, the spinosaurus was the largest carnivore on Isla Sorna. It had a distinctively long skull with the nostrils raised, very similarly to modern day crocodilians. That’s because spinosaurus was mainly a pescatarian. But it looks like the spinosaurus is back for revenge in 76976 Spinosaurus & Quetzalcoatlus Air Mission and Dr Henry Loomis better watch out.

That’s all we noticed from the official images, but there are likely going to be some more hidden Jurassic World: Rebirth references when these sets hit shelves on June 1. Jurassic World: Rebirth is coming to cinemas on July 2, 2025 in the UK and USA.
