Luigi is leaping into a new wave of LEGO Super Mario sets that will include a two player mode.
When the unique Super Mario theme was introduced last year, it was built around the interactive Mario figure. The electronic character can be moved through LEGO environments and earn coins, just like Mario does in Nintendo’s video games.
In this year’s summer wave of sets he’ll be joined by Luigi, with an all-new electronic figure featuring unique sounds, reactions and animation. The character comes in 71387 Adventures with Luigi Starter Course – but there’s also a whole bunch of new sets coming.
Each of these new sets includes special functions that encourage co-operative play, so if you use Mario and Luigi in tandem, the pair will earn additional coins towards their goal. There’s also the option for competitive play to see who can score more coins.
