Around the world, the LEGO Group manufactures LEGO elements using moulding machines. The first one was acquired by Ole Kirk Kristiansen in 1946. When visiting LEGO House – the Home of the Brick, fans see a moulding machine in action. As they leave, ticket holders can pick up a freshly moulded bag of 2×4 bricks as a souvenir of the visit.
40502 The Brick Moulding Machine captures that moulding machine, with the colours matching the real life contraption and 2×2 tiles representing the bags of bricks.
There are around 1,000 LEGO brick moulding machines around the world, with those in Billund churning out more than 1,000 bricks per second. LEGO House is located just a short walk from those factories, with its dedicated moulding machine visible to visitors. For fans of the brick, the location is a place where they can celebrate their fandom by gettings hands-on with build activities, immersed in digital experiences and enjoy unique exhibits.
Watch out for a review of the set in an upcoming issue of Blocks magazine!
