New H&M collection comes with a LEGO brick flair

New LEGO brick themed home goods have launched at H&M, offering some brick-based decorating options that won’t carry the risk of stepping on a sharp plastic brick in the middle of the night.

The LEGO Group and H&M have just launched a new set of home accessories and decorations themed around LEGO bricks, from bedding to bags.

The new collection from H&M — branded as the LEGO H&M Home Collection — is one of the latest results of the LEGO Group’s continued collaboration with outside companies to expand its reach and bring the world of LEGO bricks to other corners of the consumer world. The collection from H&M has tons of home décor and furnishing options, for those LEGO fans who want to add an extra splash of LEGO bricks to their living spaces, much to the chagrin of spouses everywhere.

LEGO bricks are the staple design of the new collection, with sheets, pillows and rugs all adorned with LEGO bricks. Most are simply bricks floating around, but some are made to look like the sea of studs created by laying a bunch of bricks next to each other. The latter is a frightening thing to walk on when it’s real bricks, but as a rug, it looks deceptively comfortable. Just don’t drop any 1×1 bricks on it…

Three different colour patterns are available for the collection — one geared more towards children and two with simpler patterns more befitting of an adult space. The colourful pattern, dotted with blues and reds and yellows, is intended for children, while the black and white designs (either white bricks on a black background or vice versa) is targeted more for adult spaces. But a little splash of colour is always nice to accent a space, so no judgement if you opt for the bright brick sheets over the plain black and white.

Sheets and pillows and rugs are the main focus of the collection, but there are a few other options sprinkled in.

A hanging print showcases LEGO element anatomy — though for precise measurements, you’ll have to check out The Secret Life of LEGO Bricks by Blocks Build Expert & Historian Daniel Konstanski.

Some canvas storage bags are available as well, and while convenient for sliding a childhood collection under the bed, adult fans will likely need to look elsewhere for LEGO brick storage. They still could be handy for storing non-LEGO brick items, but where’s the fun in that?

A desk pad, gym bag and bath towel round the more eclectic selections, though each would certainly still do well to add some LEGO brick charm to wherever you’re decorating.

The full collection is available to browse on the H&M website — these are H&M products, so you won’t find them on LEGO.com.
