LEGOLAND Billund opens The LEGO Movie World

A year later than planned, The LEGO Movie World has opened at LEGOLAND Billund in Denmark.

Following several weeks of soft opening, the official opening ceremony has launched the awesome new LEGO Movie World at LEGOLAND Billund. It’s the biggest expansion to the original LEGOLAND, located in the LEGO Group’s Danish hometown, ever. The land is inspired by the original 2014 film and the 2019 sequel.

‘It is just amazing that we have finally opened our new area in LEGOLAND. The area was originally supposed to open last year, so we have been looking forward to both seeing and experiencing the reactions from our guests, who appear to be just as crazy about the area as we are,’ said LEGOLAND Director Christian Woller.

To get Blocks, the ultimate LEGO magazine for fans, every month – at a discount and earlier than the shops – order a 12-month or 24-month subscription. Direct debit payment options are available too; to find out more get in touch via subs@silverbackpublishing.rocks.

The park’s director was joined by Emmet and Wyldstyle, who pushed the big red button to fire confetti across the new land for its official opening.  Actors Timm Vladimir and Christian Fuhlendorff, who respectively voice Emmet and Benny in the Danish subbed releases of the films, attended the opening.

Emmet’s Flying Adventure – Masters of Flight is the central ride that anchors the new land. ‘We are incredibly proud to present ’Emmet’s Flying Adventure – Masters of Flight’, which is the first one of its kind in Scandinavia. In it, our guests get a unique, captivating experience, and I see that it is already a success among both children and adults,’ said Christian.

Visitors will also find the 12 metres tall drop tower Unikitty’s Disco Drop, Apocalypseburg Sky and Benny’s Playship. The entire land is packed with photo ops, including Emmet’s Double Decker Couch.

In the UK, LEGO Mythica is opening at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort soon.
