The LEGO Group has unveiled the latest big, detailed Nintendo set for adults – Super Mario 72037 Mario Kart – Mario & Standard Kart.
Inspired by Mario Kart, the LEGO Group will release 72037 Mario Kart – Mario & Standard Kart on May 15. It has been announced today as March 10 is also known as ‘Mar10 Day’. The set includes 1,972 pieces and will retail for £139.99 / $169.99 / €169.99.
The set builds posable Matio figure with a movable head and arms, plus his kart to place him in. There is a display stand to construct too, so you will be able to showcase the vehicle at dynamic angles and capture all of the chaos that comes in a game of Mario Kart.

72037 Mario Kart – Mario & Standard Kart is reminiscent of 71411 The Mighty Bowser, which builds a large statue of the villain. Last year’s adult set in the theme was 71438 Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi, which went for a classic pixellated look.
A few bespoke elements have been created for the new set, including Mario’s moustache and nose. It also looks from the images like most of the decorations are printed onto parts rather than stickered, which fans will be pleased to know.
Mario Kart has also been the focus of standard LEGO Super Mario sets this year.
