Star Trek is finally coming to the LEGO brick, with at least one product due that it seems will include a Jean-Luc Picard minifigure.
It was 26 years ago that a certain sci-fi franchise partnered with the LEGO Group in a deal that sparked a new era for the company that has seen construction toys inspired by movies, television series, video games and more. With Star Wars being the most consistent licensed theme in the LEGO portfolio, Star Trek sets have long seemed unthinkable.
But now, LEGO sets will boldly go where no bricks have gone before and deliver ar least one product inspired by the classic sci-fi franchise. It originated in 1966 as a television series that made stars of William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy, which spawned further series as well as a movie series.

Star Trek: The Next Generation starred Patrick Stewart as Captain Jean-Luc Picard. The LEGO Group has teased the new product – or products – with a minifigure version of the character transporting into shot.
