The expanded LEGO Books publishing initiative is continuing with Garmadon, a comic book series set in the LEGO NINJAGO world.
Writer and artist Tri Vuong is the creative behind LEGO NINJAGO Garmadon, a five part comic book series. The first issue will arrive on April 6 from Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment. This year saw NINJAGO celebrate 10 years since the theme launched.
‘When it came to our first LEGO comic book series launch, we knew it had to be full of action, adventure and heartfelt drama. Everything that’s made the LEGO NINJAGO franchise so iconic,’ says Senior Vice President, Editor-in-Chief at Skybound Entertainment Sean Mackiewicz. ‘We’re excited to expand the official NINAGO mythos in partnership with our friends at AMEET and the LEGO Group to bring you the grand return of the bad guy you love to hate—Lord Garmadon!’

In the story, a village is being terrorised by an unknown threat, when it is rescued by a stranger with incredible powers – Garmadon, Lord of Destruction. Whether he has returned to the side of good or has a dastardly plan to enact will be revealed in the comic book.
‘It’s been such a great opportunity to play within the LEGO universe,’ says Tri Vuong. ‘The LEGO NINJAGO franchise has all the qualities that I love in a story; action, adventure, humour and compelling characters. In our new series, we’re paying homage to the LEGO NINJAGO franchise while expanding the mythology with new stories on this beloved property.’
The first issue will be available at comic book shops and digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play on April 6, 2022.
