LEGO James Bond and his Aston Martin DB5 arrive in Blocks magazine Issue 96

For the first time, 007 has a LEGO minifigure – so James Bond is taking over the cover of Blocks Issue 96, the LEGO magazine for fans.

The latest issue of Blocks, the LEGO magazine for fans, is available now. Anyone who takes out a print subscription by November 2, 2022 will also be in with a chance of winning Star Wars 75337 AT-TE Walker.

As well as 76911 007 Aston Martin DB5, Blocks is reviewing new sets from Harry Potter, Star Wars, Super Mario, City, Friends, Art and Collectible Minifigures. Find out which models are must-haves and which your collection can continue without.

Blocks is analysing how LEGO licensed sets have become more prominent over the past 20 years, with statistics on how the balance has changed, plus commentary on what has driven this significant shift in focus.

That’s not to say that we don’t love Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and Harry Potter though – and so does stop motion master Kevin Ulrich. He talks through his journey making brickfilms and explains how those LEGO licensed themes inspire his movie making.

Delving into the archive, there’s also a look at the original LEGO CD-ROM with Bjarne P Tveskov, the person who led the project from inception to completion – earning the accolade of creating the most stolen CD in Europe. Then we also investigate the Minitalia mystery, demonstrating how confounding some of the LEGO Group’s history can be.

The villainous Aquasharks appear in Blockstalgia, with the submarine-faring villains appearing inn their cartoony yet menacing shark-infused vessels. There are even instructions to build a modern version of a classic model.

The rest of the 116 pages include a tour of the world’s largest LEGO Store, the top 10 LEGO lighthouses, how to build LEGO wells and much more.
