LEGO Space Blacktron is returning in 2025 with the release of 10355 Blacktron Renegade. This modern recreation of the classic set 6954 Renegade is packed with nostalgia for fans of the retro model.
10355 Blacktron Renegade is the latest retro recreation from LEGO Icons, coming on January 1. The set uses 1,151 pieces and will be priced at £89.99 / €99.99.
“I’m sure this set will be nostalgic for AFOLs and new experiences to our future AFOLs,” said Senior Model Designer Jae Won Lee when he unveiled the set. “Blacktron was introduced in 1987 and was one of my favourites. I’m really honoured to rebuild this design.”

When Blacktron was introduced to Space, it marked a departure from what has come before, presenting a dark, villainous faction for the long-running theme. The distinctive black and yellow colour scheme that the sets were known for has been captured on 10355 Blacktron Renegade, which is based on 6954 Renegade.
“It has the same six modules, like original model, and especially the Renegade is quite [a] unique shape, an asymmetric shape. It has the same six modules like original version; cockpit, communication modules, hyper boosters and one man speeders on the wings.”
The set can be rebuilt into two different vehicles, one of which is inspired by 6876 Alienator. “We also have a B model like 10497 Galaxy Explorer so you can recreate the Alienator using the mainframes and the vehicle parts. And we have three minifigures and one droid.”
