Double LEGO Insiders points are available now and there’s a free bonus model too if you buy enough LEGO sets.
Insiders members can enjoy double points between October 13 and October 19 on all purchases at LEGO.com. If you sign up for a free Insiders account, you earn points every time you shop at LEGO.com – and those points can be used for discounts in future orders. The points work out at approximately 5% cashback, except during double points events – when they work out at 10% cashback!
If you’re in the USA, you can get an extra 10% off – you just need to go to giftcards.com, buy a gift card with the code BLOCK10 and then use it at LEGO.com.
As well as the double points, Insider members who spend more than £160 / $180 will receive 40909 Restaurants of the World: Italy for free, while stocks last. It’s the latest in a series of models, following on from 40906 Restaurants of the World: Japan, 40907 Restaurants of the World: Mexico and 40908 Restaurants of the World: Greece.
There are a lot of new LEGO sets out that you could buy to take advantage of the promotions. Larger exclusives will of course get the most bang for your buck in terms of double points. If you’re thinking ahead to Christmas, 11387 Holiday House is the latest addition to the Winter Village Collection. It offers a rustic chalet set in the mountains, brimming with festive decor, a huge Christmas tree in the front hall and a one horse open sleigh to take minifigures on a ride through the snow.
If you need a present to put under the tree, then the new 72306 PlayStation is in stock. It’s a perfect replica of the original console featuring the classic grey design and plug-in controller. Opening up the model reveals two tiny, colourful dioramas of Ape Escape and Gran Turismo, both of which debuted on the console, while the controller has the power buttons and keypad that are still used on the upgraded versions today.
Upgrade your LEGO hobby! If you take out a subscription to Blocks, the monthly LEGO magazine, you’ll get each issue first and at a discount, plus other perks including a free digital subscription and the chance to win LEGO prizes every month.
Star Wars fans should consider 75457 Executor Super Star Destroyer, the latest Ultimate Collector Series LEGO set. The massive, 6,130 piece set is pricey, but that makes it a solid choice during a double points deal. This one has improved the overall scale and proportions of the Imperial dreadnought, so it captures its screen design incredibly accurately. It also comes with an selection of exclusive minifigures, included a new sculpted head element for the deadly assassin droid IG-88.
21373 Downton Abbey is inspired by the popular television series. This has just hit shelves, so it won’t be discounted for a while, making double points an excellent deal. It’s a grand display piece of the manor home, inspired by the real Highclere Castle, with a fully decorated interior that’s filled with period-style furniture and accessories. If you’re not a fan of the series but are a history buff, this is still a solid build packed with details.
If you have certain models on your ‘to buy’ list, this is also a good opportunity to snag some sets that are retiring soon. The list of builds on their way out includes must-have display models like 75192 Millennium Falcon, 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser and 21351 Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Two more unique display pieces leaving shelves are 21353 The Botanical Garden and 10335 The Endurance. 21353 The Botanical Garden is a beautiful model for botany fans as it recreates a large 19th century style greenhouse filled with exotic plant species made using some clever parts usage. 10335 The Endurance builds an elegant display model of the vessel captained by Ernest Shackleton on his tragic Antarctic expedition.
Those are just some of the potential new and retiring sets you might want to grab during this promotion, but LEGO.com offers a huge range available for fans of every genre. While all purchases qualify as part of the LEGO Insiders double points event, only those over £160 ($180) will meet the threshold for the free 40909 Restaurants of the World: Italy.
