Eight LEGO Minecraft sets were unveiled today at EGX and Design Manager Joe Kyde talked about the new models.
The LEGO Group has a big presence at EGX in London over the weekend of October 24 – October 26. During the enormous event that sees the games industry gather at the Excel centre, LEGO Minecraft Design Manager Joe Kyde took to the stage to reveal the new sets that will launch on January 1, 2026.
“I’ve been a product designer, toy designer for 30 years,” he said as he arrived on stage. “I’ve been on LEGO for 11 and I’ve been on LEGO Minecraft for 10 years, almost the beginning. And I’ve been playing Minecraft itself well before that.”
Unsurprisingly, he gets to play a lot of Minecraft. “I play almost every day. I get paid to play Minecraft. Even playing like 30 minutes, I can get inspired by something every day.”
After a little teasing, he revealed the eight new sets for the first time and talked through each of them.

“We have eight products that we’ve been working on, a little bit of everything,” he said. “Most of the focus is on the minifigure scale, but we’re also branching out.
“We have 21583 Steve’s Taiga Adventure, which includes a couple of new elements. We’ve got a fox with an actual fox head. It’s no longer the cat head, just coloured orange. We were like, we need to do the fox, trust us, he’s too adorable. We brought the baby bunny in.
“Then we have 21584 Nether & End Portal Journey. So you get two portals, a little dimension of each one of them, you have a baby hoglin and an Enderman. And then, instead of Steve or Alex you get this guy here, we call Cool Hero.
“We have 21585 Chicken Farm. If you remember, many, many, many years ago, we did the chicken coop. This is the successor to that. We figured it’s been long enough, it’s hard to find the chicken coop. So now we have the chicken farm, which has a giant chicken. It dispenses seeds, it lays eggs. It also has a fox. It has a cold weather chicken. It has a baby chicken. It has a smoker, which we haven’t done before. And of course, you can take the chicken off if you just want a giant chicken. Oh, and of course, it has a baby zombie.
“Then we have my personal favourite, 21586 The Pale Garden, which comes with the creeping, it comes with a Creeper, it comes with a skeleton. It comes with the new single stud wide chest, which is two new elements. And it also has a little feature where you can get the resin and reject the creaking heart if you want to give someone a creaking in their base. And it comes with Mothman with some wings, a personal favourite of mine.
“Then we have 21587 Zombie Dungeon, which is a zombie spawner. It comes with three zombies and a slime, the Wastelands Wanderer, then it’s got the new cactus design that we have and we added the cactus flower on top. It has a feature where you can drop some sand down onto the Zombies below. We have a zombie spawner and we have rotten flesh.
“We have 21588 The Fox. Following up with 21276 The Creeper, we are doing a large-scale fox. He’s nice, posable. You can flip his eyes around so he’s sleeping. It’s very hard to do with one hand. You can put him in a sleeping pose or I guess he’s just sleepwalking right now.
“Then we have 21589 Mini Biomes collection. This is following up 21265 The Crafting Table that we did. All of these are compatible with the crafting table. They are a collection of five different biomes, each with a little mini mob that accompanies it, lots of little details in those, we’ve got Steve, the Creeper, a mooshroom, a husk and a pillager. We have some iconic structures in there, the outpost, the desert temple… and if you want, you can go from night to day. And as I said, it’s compatible with the crafting table, so you can put these in, take those out, have them on display by themselves if you want a full array on your desktop.
“And finally, we have 21590 Wither Battle. It has been a long time since we did the wither. This is why I beat the wither. I was like, ‘we won’t do a wither set if I actually haven’t beaten the wither, I don’t feel right about that.’
“So we did a wither set with the working portal. We’ve got a strider that you can ride. We have a baby Strider. We’ve got two wither skeletons and one wither skeleton head, so you can put those on and then summon the wither itself, it comes out and destroys everything. And you have a player character in full netherite gear, he comes with the mace.”
