Blocks magazine Issue 98 features Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen and LEGO Avatar

It’s time for Blocks, the monthly LEGO magazine, to wrap up 2022 and the LEGO Group’s 90th anniversary year with a bang – Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen discusses his innovations in the 1980s, LEGO Avatar gets a deep dive and LEGO House reveals how new experiences are developed.

The latest issue of Blocks, the LEGO magazine for fans, is available now. Anyone who takes out a print subscription by January 4, 2022 will also be in with a chance of winning Avatar 75574 Toruk Makto & Tree of Souls. This is also the last opportunity to beat the price increase – on December 1, Blocks magazine print subscriptions will increase in price. Lock in for one – or even two years – to save money. Existing subscribers are welcome to renew early.

LEGO owner Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen reveals what his early days as CEO were like in an exclusive excerpt from The LEGO Story. He talks about introducing the minifigure and coming up with the concept of themes within the LEGO System. We also have an interview with book’s author, who shares his experiences delving into the Kirk Kristiansen family.

There’s also a festive feature to get you in the Christmas mood, but we have to keep that one vague for now – it includes exclusive interviews with two well-known LEGO professionals and another famous face who is entering this brick world for the first time.

Cinemas will be going big again this holiday with the release of Avatar: The Way of Water and this month’s LEGO magazine is going deep into the new theme, with reviews of the sets and insights from the designers who developed them.

Changing pace from product development, Blocks also learns how LEGO House comes up with new experiences. The in-depth look at how Mood Mixer, the latest new addition to the Home of the Brick, came to be is illustrated with never-before-seen concept art.

The rest of the 116 pages include Star Wars, Super Mario and Marvel reviews, top 10 LEGO landmarks a discussion about LEGO Ideas set sizes, plus much more.
