It’s almost time for media to gather in Billund, Denmark, the home of the LEGO headquarters, for LEGO Fan Media Days – and it’s the 10th edition of the annual event. There will be journalists, writers, video creators and influencers attending to get an update from the LEGO Group about what’s going on that might be of interest to brick fandom.
There will be a packed schedule over three days, giving attendees an opportunity to see what new LEGO sets are coming, find out what new initiatives are happening within the LEGO Group and experience new attractions in Billund.
Blocks, the monthly LEGO magazine will be there on the ground and ready to make sure that readers get real inside access to the LEGO Group.
To mark the 10th anniversary of LEGO Fan Media Days, Blocks Editor Graham. E Hancock (author of LEGO Star Wars: The Force of Creativity) and Build Expert and Historian Daniel Konstanski (author of The Secret Life of LEGO Bricks) look back at past editions of the event.

They share stories, reminisce and talk about how it has evolved through the years. In this second conversation, they discuss LEGO Fan Media Days in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
In 2019, the event continued to expand, with a look at the new LEGO House exclusive set, LEGO video games presentations and LEGO Braille Bricks. Graham particularly remembers seeing 75936 Jurassic Park: T. rex Rampage for the first time.
Things really changed after a couple of years online due to the pandemic though, when LEGO Fan Media Days came back in 2022 with more product reveals than ever before.
Since then, there have been a slew of secret LEGO set reveals each year at the event, with exciting sets inspired by and from The Lord of the Rings, The Simpsons, Speed Champions, Architecture, Marvel and more.
Daniel recalls how Design Master Henrik Rubin Saaby revelaed that the goat is included in 10332 Medieval Town Square.
“I remember he kept the goat hidden, he pulled out the entire set, put it all out there, we were all ‘oooing’ and ‘aahing’ and he said ‘ there’s one more thing’ and he had it in his pocket. I think we blew the roof off. Which was kind of funny because we had already seen the goat was coming back in Collectible Minifigures.”
