Ahead of its Formula 1 British Grand Prix watch party, the LEGO Group is hosting a building competition that can win you a free night at art’otel Battersea Power Station and free LEGO Formula 1 sets.
As part of the watch party being held in Battersea Park for the 2025 British Grand Prix, the LEGO Group and Battersea Power Station are hosting a building competition for children that asks them to build their dream F1 car. One lucky winner and their family will get a prize bundle with LEGO Formula 1 sets and a free night at Battersea Power Station ahead of the watch party on July 6, 2025.
The competition requires children to build their dream Formula 1 car — the requirements get no more specific than that. So entries can be as realistic or wacky as possible; creativity will be the main judge when it comes to picking the winner. Entries are handled via a page on LEGO.com and do require a LEGO Insiders Club membership (which is free to join, so it’s not a roadblock to entry).
One winner will be chosen ahead of the watch party in Battersea Park on July 6. The night before the watch party, the winner and their family will be given a free stay at art’otel Battersea Power Station, as well as free tickets to the Lift 109 experience and a dining voucher at Wright Brothers. Lift 109 chronicles the history of Battersea Power Station and Wright Brothers is a seafood restaurant just next door.
Upgrade your LEGO hobby! If you take out a subscription to Blocks, the monthly LEGO magazine, you’ll get each issue first and at a discount, plus other perks including a free digital subscription and the chance to win LEGO prizes every month.

The winner will then of course be able to attend the LEGO Group’s family watch party for the 2025 British Grand Prix — though the event itself is free and open to anyone.
Scheduled to take place from 10.00am to 6.00pm, the watch party will have family-friendly activities taking place while the British Grand Prix plays on the big screen in Battersea Park. Activities include a Make & Take station (who doesn’t love free LEGO bricks?), an F1-themed speed building challenge and reaction time challenges.
A life-sized LEGO McLaren Formula 1 car will be in attendance as well. This is a fully-functional, brick-built car that drove in the Miami Grand Prix Driver’s Parade earlier this year. The car is an excellent photo-op in and of itself, but a podium will also be on hand for even more opportunities to snap a commemorative family photo.
The contest is free to enter and the event free to attend, offering a nice bit of LEGO fun for fans of Formula 1 and the brick. The event requires no RSVP, though queues will be in place to help control the crowds. So if you want to ensure you see the whole race on the big screen, make sure you’re there early. But if you’re just interested in some family activities and a free LEGO build, stopping by Battersea Park any time before 6pm should be enough.
