The perfect LEGO sets to accompany your modular buildings

2025 has seen the release of another LEGO Icons modular building. 10350 Tudor Corner joins the long roster of modular sets that extends back to 2007. Modular Building Collection sets are large with piece counts in the thousands. Tudor Corner, for example, comes with 3,266 pieces and eight minifigures.

It can be easy to wonder where to go after a Modular Buildings Collection set like 10350 Tudor Corner. What else goes well with it? Join Blocks and discover some of the best sets to accompany your LEGO modulars.

10297 Boutique Hotel

Nothing goes as well with a modular building as another modular building. Right from when the series started, these structures were designed to be collected and displayed together. This idea stretches all the way back to the first ever modular, 10182 Café Corner. Released in 2007 in the Advanced Models theme, Café Corner features the theme’s iconic tiled pavement and Technic pins (used to attach multiple builds together).

10297 Boutique Hotel is the LEGO Group’s oldest modular building that is currently available. Released back in 2022, this means that it’s the most likely to retire soon. The set comes with 3,066 pieces and seven minifigures. The building is replete with detail from numerous printed tiles (no stickers here). So, if you already have indulged in the new 10350 Tudor Corner, why not add another to the collection?

60304 Road Plates

Perhaps you already have a decent collection of modular building and you’re looking for a smaller complimentary set. 60304 Road Plates lets you expand your imagination past the edge of a modular’s pavement. This set features five LEGO road plates, plus traffic lights, road signs, and even glow-in the dark streetlights.

Originally released in 2021 the set replaced the short lived 854048 LEGO Road Tape. Road plates has a simple design and versatility. The connection points mean that you can buy multiple copies of this set to build out a bigger road that fits in with your modulars, whether you have one or five.

60407 Red Double-Decker Sightseeing Bus

What good is a built-up modular city if there isn’t any way of seeing it? Clearly inspired by London’s iconic red buses, 60407 Red Double-Decker Sightseeing Bus gives your minifigures a fun way to see the city.

The bus comes with five diverse minifigures, but there is easily enough space to comfortably sit twice that many. The 384-piece set is surprisingly roomy and the detachable top section enables easy minifigure access.

Alongside working doors, the bus also has spinnable destination display. The destinations include Harbour, Park, Downtown, and Museum. This last location ties in nicely with the Modular Building Collection, as the passengers could be visiting 10326 Natural History Museum.

60452 Donut Truck / 60404 Burger Truck

At £17.99 each, both 60452 Donut Truck and 60404 Burger Truck offer fun, budget ways to add vibrancy to your modular builds. Like modulars, these food trucks are built to minifigure scale so shouldn’t look out of place next to 10312 Jazz Club or 10350 Tudor Corner.

60404 Burger Truck was released in 2024 and is likely to retire before Donut Truck, which is new for 2025, if you’re unsure which truck to get first.

60423 Downtown Streetcar and Station

2024 saw the release of 60423 Downtown Streetcar and Station. This 811-piece set lets you add public transit into your modular city. The build is highly customisable as you don’t have to build the station adjacent to the tracks.

This set works well in-conjunction with 60304 Road Plates. Lots of real cities have a mix of rails and road for their citizens to use to get around. With some  customising you could easily incorporate this set alongside your modular buildings. Afterall, there isn’t a better way to get home after a visit to the Old Guarded Inn (found in 10350 Tudor Corner).

LEGO Pick a Brick

Finally, if you are still unsure of what to add to your modular collection, there’s always LEGO Pick a Brick. Perhaps you want to create your own custom minifigure to visit 10326 Natural History Museum or you simply want to fill 10312 Jazz Club with some real jazz cats (element ID: 6405725)

The LEGO Group’s Pick a Brick system enables fans to get the pieces to customise their builds however they want. And that’s what is great about the Modular Buildings Collection – it’s a fantastic starting point for your creativity.
