In partnership with Bindi Irwin, the LEGO Group is launching Build your Bestie: Playful Pets Creativity Workshops and LEGO Pet Day Care experiences worldwide as part of its She Built That campaign, which aims to empower girls and women to see themselves as builders.
The next chapter of the LEGO Group’s She Built That campaign has been announced, focusing on the importance of friendships with animals and combining those relationships with LEGO building and play. Previous parts of the campaign included placing Brick Plaques around London, hosting a dance party for girls at the Southbank Centre and sponsoring TIME’s Girls of the Year list.
A recent survey conducted by the LEGO Group found that animal friends have a significant impact of girls’ personal growth, boosting their creative confidence and emotional wellbeing.
The survey, which involved 13,250 children from 13 countries, found that girls form stronger bonds with animals, both pets and toys, than boys. Of those surveyed, 40% of girls said playing with animal toys boosted their happiness, 36% said it boosted imagination, 34% said the same for creativity and 18% said they experience a boost in self-confidence. Additionally, 31% of girls said playing with animal toys motivated them to draw, write or build something new.
More social results include 41% saying a pet has taught them how to be caring and kind; 51% saying their relationship with their pet is comforting; and 36% saying they confide their feelings in a pet versus just 11% for a trusted teacher.

Inspired by the survey results and girls’ strong relationship with animals, the LEGO Group has teamed up with wildlife conservationist and Australia Zoo CEO Bindi Irwin, daughter of Steve and Terri Irwin.
Bindi will lead the latest Creativity Workshops — hands-on building experiences designed for children aged 6 to 12. The Build Your Bestie: Playful Pets workshop hosted by Bindi is available for free online and in-person workshops are available at LEGO Stores hosted by LEGO Brick Specialists.
“Animals have been a part of my life since I was born,” said Bindi. “They’ve always been my friends and greatest teachers, turning ordinary days into adventures. Every child deserves a friend who sparks confidence, curiosity and creativity. The natural world is full of ideas, discoveries and friendships waiting to be explored, and I love that these experiences give young creators the chance to bring that magic to life with LEGO bricks. It’s incredible what ideas appear when you start building. With LEGO animals, you don’t just make a friend — you build a bestie.”
Launching on February 14, 2026, the online workshops will feature Bindi guiding builders through three animal-themed LEGO creations: a name tag pen pot, a pet bestie and a animal-inspired picture frame.
The in-store workshops will be at select LEGO Stores worldwide. Tickets are required and can be found on LEGO.com/CreativityWorkshops.
“Every girl deserves a companion who sparks her imagination, encourages authenticity and celebrates her confidence and creativity,” said LEGO SVP, Product Group, Core Business Lena Dixen. “Our research highlights the vital role of play in helping girls express themselves, revealing how animals — whether pets or toys — are powerful sources of inspiration. With initiatives like our LEGO Pet Day Care and creativity workshops, we hope to provide girls with opportunities to share ideas, collaborate, and express their true creative selves, whether through imaginative play or building with bricks.”
