A new LEGO Ideas and Unity contest asks fans to create a NINJAGO video game – or a non-NINJAGO video game – for a chance at winning awesome prizes.
Last year, a contest was held in which LEGO fans created playable games using Unity’s LEGO Microgame, a piece of software that teaches the basics of game creation within the Unity platform using LEGO elements. Now there’s a new contest, catchily titled ‘LEGO NINJAGO + One-Button Digital Game using the LEGO Microgame’.
Select LEGO retail locations and LEGO House will have arcade cabinets and the winning games will be playable. Lots of new LEGO NINJAGO contest has been added to the Microgame and the teams is encouraging entrants to base their games around the theme.
It’s the first time that LEGO fans have been able to build their own video game using NINJAGO minifigures and accessories. The items that have been incorporated into the Microgame are digital recreations of the actual elements found in the LEGO NINJAGO range.
To get Blocks, the LEGO magazine for fans, every month – at a discount and earlier than the shops – order a 12-month or 24-month subscription. Direct debit payment options are available too; to find out more get in touch via subs@silverbackpublishing.rocks.
There are other categories too though. Here are the different strands within the contest:
– A LEGO NINJAGO themed game. Be Ninja!
– A game with a theme of your choice. What is one-button fun to you (use of third-party IPs is NOT allowed).
– A game made only with LEGO behaviour-bricks, so no additional scripting
