LEGO Ideas 21332 The Globe goes around the world in 2,585 bricks

21332 The Globe is launching soon in the LEGO Ideas range, inspired on a fan design that makes an entire globe using LEGO bricks.

LEGO bricks are square and globes are round – that didn’t stop Guillaume Roussel coming up with a design for a LEGO Globe, that is now coming as an official product. Guillaume submitted his idea to the LEGO Ideas platform, received the support of 10,000 other users and will see his dream come true when the official model launches on February 1.

‘When approaching the design, I asked myself ‘what could be creative, educational and touch most of the world?’ And the answer was just ‘the world itself’,’ says Guillaume.

21332 The Globe builds an entire globe using LEGO elements that can spin on its axis, with glow-in-the-dark printed tiles featuring the names of continents and oceans.

‘What is so wonderful about this set is that, with a little imagination, it allows fans to discover the world through LEGO bricks,’ says LEGO Head of Global Marketing for Adults Federico Begher. ‘The globe is a symbol of dreams and aspirations of travel to come for all who are seeking a bit of adventure or for those looking to learn about our world.  When reviewing Guilaume’s set we could see the passion he had for travel and adventure, but also for inspiring building fans everywhere.  Our designers also relished the challenge of making this set spin.’

The set will launch on February 1, 2022.
