LEGO Fortnite promotional box is packed with goodies

A package has turned up at Blocks magazine HQ to remind us that that’s a big new gaming experience to get stuck into – LEGO Fortnite.

Some weeks ago, Blocks magazine was given a heads up that a mysterious package was on the way – and given all of the redirect labels on the box, it was probably due to arrive before Christmas! A box containing LEGO bricks is always welcome though and it arrived a few days into 2024.

Whether your preference is PC, PlayStation, Xbox or something else, you can download Fortnite – for free – and play the new LEGO Fortnite game within it. Taking control of a minifigure, you can roam through seemingly endless worlds, gathering resources, building a community and fending off dangerous critters.

To promote the game, this box that Epic Games and the LEGO Group send out is rare physical artefact from the collaboration, as there are currently no LEGO sets based on Fortnite. There has been a Supply Llama make and take though – that model is included inside the box pre-built in a plastic display case.

Alongside the Supply Llama, there’s also a LEGO Fortnite t-shirt, a poster and a set from LEGO DREAMZzz – the excellent and spooky 71469 Nightmare Shark Ship.

The poster hints at what you can do in LEGO Fortnite, revealing how you can escape from a monster by adding boosters to a bed and flying away. Many things within the game can be given movement by adding different functional sections.

You can find out more about LEGO Fortnite in Issue 112 of Blocks, the monthly LEGO magazine – there’s the Blocks review of the game and an exclusive interview revealing how this unique collaboration came about. That issue will launch on January 26 – until then, you can get Issue 111 or the Blocks Book of Retro LEGO Sets.
