The set is inspired by the beauty of springtime in Japan and features Mount Fuji, a teahouse, a bridge, a waterfall, flying Japanese cranes, cherry blossom, Sango-Kaku maple and Japanese umbrella pine trees. The frame has been designed so that it can either stand on its own or be mounted on a wall.
“Every year we are amplifying the LEGO System to form it as a creative medium,” says the designer presenting the build at Fan Media Days 2025. “We have made an original art creation that is an homage to traditional Japanese land art, like seen in the Ukiyo-e movement. We have classical aspects of this style of painting and it’s always a creative composition of the artist, taking different landscape aspects that are filled with symbolism and combining them into a unique creation.
“We’ve developed this shadow box frame, giving it an additional depth through forced perspective, allowing you to either hang this on the wall, as we usually do or it can also stand up on its own to have a free standing piece of art.
“In this creation, you will find different aspects that you see within the classic landscape art of things like Mount Fuji, the waterfall, different trees and animals and a little tea house as well. And that sums up the Japanese Cherry Blossom Landscape.”
The LEGO Group suggest that the set is suitable for women and men, so can be presumably enjoyed by people of any gender.
