With the announcement of LEGO Star Wars 40675 Commander Cody, Blocks looks at the Clone units who fans also need as BrickHeadz…
Across the LEGO BrickHeadz theme there have been a variety of troopers, from the classic Stormtrooper to the bold red lines of Sith Troopers. As LEGO Star Wars celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, 40675 Commander Cody has recently been revealed as one of the celebratory sets. It’s the first time any of the Clone Troopers have been featured in this blocky style, with the armour translating into a very detailed little model.
With so many different Clone characters, and even more armour variations, will there be more in this style? Blocks, the monthly LEGO magazine, is grabbing a blaster and taking to the battlefield to choose who we’d love to see next…
Captain Rex

Considering fans have already had 75349 Captain Rex Helmet alongside 75350 Clone Commander Cody Helmet in the Helmet Collection, it’s somewhat surprising that he’s absent in BrickHeadz. He is one of the most easily recognisable Clones thanks to his iconic blue and white armour, which features his hand painted design and Battle Droid tally count. He’d be a similar style to Cody, but without the visor and sporting a rangefinder instead.
Commander Gree

Although Order 66 unfortunately makes Gree turn on Yoda, he is still a very important Clone Trooper. Essential for holding back the Separatists on Kashyyyk, he wore armour to blend in with the wroshyr trees of the planet. Capturing the camouflage design at a BrickHeadz scale would be challenging, but it would allow for a lot of fun green greebling.

Commander Wolffe

There are now three versions of Commander Wolffe the LEGO designers could be inspired by – most recently his cameo in Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3. His armour isn’t especially complicated as it’s just a mixture of greys and whites. However, what really distinguishes him are the patterns. His arm guards feature fur-like motifs, while Wolffe’s helmet has a very distinctive narrow visor. It would likely require new some new prints, but the result would be worth it.
The Bad Batch

It’s fair to say that the Bad Batch have probably become some of the most beloved Clones and in reality this would need to be a four pack containing Hunter, Wrecker, Tech and Crosshair. Each model would be need to be completely different in order to capture their unique personalities and skills. And they could work as helmeted characters like 40675 or feature faces like a lot of the other Star Wars BrickHeadz. If Omega and Batcher were included too, then that would be perfection!
Coruscant Guard

Having just featured as a minifigure in 75354 Coruscant Guard Gunship, these specialised units, also known as Shock Troopers, only protected the Galactic Senate and would make a striking BrickHeadz set. To go along with their important role, they had bright red detailing on their amour and could also wield riot shields or stun batons. A double-pack featuring Commander Fox alongside another unit member would be able to capture these different specialities.
There hasn’t been a LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz released since 40623 Battle of Endor Heroes a year ago, so it’s great to see that these figures are still being added to the collection – even if the releases are seemingly random. If 40675 Commander Cody proves successful, hopefully we’ll get more Clone Troopers in the future. Which Clone character would you like to see?
