Five LEGO locations for a Valentine’s Day to remember

Valentine’s Day is here and for AFOLs this can mean the impossible task of convincing your sweetheart that Avengers Tower is as romantic as Prague… or Bermondsey.

But don’t book that trip to Couch City just yet – call your significant other and hold on to your significant figures, because here are five LEGO locations for a Valentine’s Day to remember. These romantic LEGO sets can all set the scene for a date, even if it isn’t apparent at first glance.

For First Valentines: Street Food

As with LEGO bricks, when you’re embarking on a new relationship, it’s worth starting with something small. Something fun.

60404 Burger Truck proves ‘the first bite is with the eye.’ The themed kiosk, with its lettuce green, tomato red and worrying cheddar yellow, certainly promises much. The modular bun (gluten-free) offers easy access to the preparation area, while the accompanying flatbed truck lets the cook avoid the health inspector. Reminisce over the time a seagull stole your chips while you and your gherkin share the build.

For Anniversary Valentines: Track Night

So you’ve met the pets, the parents. You’ve even said the L-word (“L-LEGO?!”). Your relationship is locked in.

So why not ruin it with competition?

This year’s soap box derby kits, such as 60459 Airplane vs. Hospital Bed Race Car Pack, offer all the thrill of go-karts with none of the fumes. As a pocket money entry point into 2025’s overarching racing theme, it has the playability of more expensive sets, but thanks to the universal vehicle base, far simpler customisation. So grab some books, build a track – and the loser is washing the dishes!

For Make-Up Valentines: Le Woof!

Okay, so you messed up. Work was hectic, you were tired and it’s only a day, right? Babe?

Which is why you’re spending the weekend at 42638 Castle Bed and Breakfast.

The set boasts a balanced build, with a romantic Rapunzel’s tower facade, expansive balcony, three floors (and an attic) of richly detailed interiors and plenty of room for mini-dolls to unwind in the conviviality of la vie du chateau. Plus, who needs fine wine when there’s a wee Scotty dog? First one to finish gets to name him… too late, it’s Bongo. Or Bongeau, I suppose.

For The Big Valentines: A Little Box

Of course, there are years where you pull out all the stops and spare no expense, because this Valentine’s is special.

21062 Trevi Fountain is quite the picture postcard. As a flat facade, without even the suggestion of an interior, it’s for display, not play. But while the build demands a lot of repetition to achieve its Classical shaping and almost animated water detail, the sense that the effort involved builds towards something wonderful is palpable. Almost like – wait. What’s that you’re holding?

For True Valentines: The World, And Everything In It

Of course, all some couples need is a bit of time away from it all. Stargazing can provide some much-needed perspective. At Dark Sky sites, such as Snowdonia or the South Downs, there are nights where the view can give you vertigo. Where stars and satellites may poling around the Earth can feel like they’re dancing only for you.

42603 Stargazing Camping Vehicle won’t give you vertigo, unless the rooftop tent sets you off. The clever telescope build pairs with a customisable starry sky backdrop. An interplanetary communications kit allows the mini-dolls to talk to Friends in high places. Build it as a reminder that while hearts and flowers are fine, there can be nothing more romantic than the starlight in their eye and a Thermos full of Bovril.
