The 1,431 piece set builds the car includings its V6 cylinder engine with moving pistons, steering and suspension. When complete, the model measures 13 cm high, 65cm long and 27cm wide. A life-sized version of the set turned up at the Austrian Grand Prix… but we’re not giving that one away, we’re giving the regular retail one away.
The LEGO design team was given special access to McLaren’s new Formula 1 race car, the MCL36, so that they could have the set ready to go to coincide with the unveiling of the new car for the 2022 season.

McLaren Formula 1 Driver Lando Norris starting building with LEGO sets as a child. ‘It started when I was three or four years old, maybe even before that,’ he told the LEGO Group. ‘My dad had some models of cars, and so at a very young age, I got into it. And I had a brother and two sisters, and so growing up, we always used to play with it.
