What are the next updates coming to LEGO Fortnite?

LEGO Fortnite is about to get an update, so Blocks is thinking about what could come next to expand the survival game.

With the Unreal Engine team taking a summer break from working on Fortnite and LEGO Fortnite, things have been relatively quiet since the massive Star Wars update that brought an entirely new world, characters, and resources into the existing game. But there is a lot more to come. Several hints have been teasing the arrival of fast travel in LEGO Fortnite through the Battle Bus and presumably stations that will be dotted around the world.

However, that’s just one of the many updates coming soon. Klombo is on the horizon. There’s going to be new biomes. And a whole host more…

So what is Klombo? Klombos are dragon-like creatures that quickly became fan favourites in Battle Royale. They are likely going to be in the next major update as Butter Cakes have just been added to the recipes in the oven, which was the codename for Klombo. By feeding a Klombo a Butter Cake then it’s possible players will be able to tame them just like the other farm animals. Different biomes may then hold different colours or variations of Klombo.

Currently there are four biomes in LEGO Fortnite – the Grasslands, Shore, Dry Valley, and Frostlands. Each one gets progressively more difficult and requires players to update their charms and equipment in order to successfully survive. LEGO Fortnite worlds are already vast so finding certain biomes can be a challenge sometimes, though hopefully fast travel might help with that. Yet the developers are planning to bring two more biomes to the game.

Firstly, there’s the Jungle. Now this was introduced in Fortnite in Season 8, but whether it will be similar in the LEGO version is unclear. However, some things that may remain the same are the resources or obstacles. Mud and vines were the nemeses of anyone trying to explore the jungle, which could be fun trying to explore with a minifigure. It would also provide the perfect opportunity to bring some different creatures to the game. There’s only so many variations of Rollers fans need. Tigers, panthers or sloths could be fun additions!

Then the other biome could be the Mountains. Considering there are mountains already present in the Frostlands and giant mesas in the Dry Valley, it will be interesting to see how this would be different. However, it may provide caves that are easier to find or with a variety of resources, such as Iron, Sapphire or Rubies. As there are Highland Cows in the Frostlands, then mountain goats could be a cool addition to the animal cast too.

Another update some time in October will also finally bring Fortnitemares to the LEGO islands. This Halloween celebration appears in Battle Royale and Fortnite Festival, but with the game only released in October last year, it isn’t surprising that LEGO Fortnite wasn’t ready for such a big update. A spooky makeover will bring new skins and builds to the island, but it could also change the biomes in some way. Maybe there will be bats flying around? Or ghosts joining the skeletons wandering around at night?

LEGO Fortnite is remaining fresh and the new content is adding replayability for existing players but also enticing new fans to try it out. What are you excited to see added to LEGO Fortnite next? Let us know on any of the Blocks social media channels!
