Castles have been synonymous with Disney ever since Snow White ran away from her stepmother in the classic 1937 movie. During the 1990s resurgence of Disney animation, Beauty and the Beast introduced an enchanted castle where inanimate objects have come to life, which was recently delivered as a detailed set – 43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle. With its striking lavender, tan and dark red colour palette, the official model inspires this miniature version.
The challenge with miniaturising any building is getting the proportions right – both the shape of the structure and the spread of colours. It is never possible to match the subject matter perfectly, so figuring out how to compromise where necessary, yet keeping everything recognisable, is essential.
