In 1995, Aquazone became the fifth distinctive LEGO System theme joining Town, Castle, Space and Pirates. Beneath the waves, Aquanauts and Aquasharks battled over for the rare hydrolator crystals that allowed them to live underwater. The crystal elements are still used in sets today and are the theme’s longest lasting legacy, but it also boasted a host of excellent sets including 6175 Crystal Explorer Sub.
The model consists of three sections. At its front, a large cabin features the distinctive transparent dark blue bubble canopy that defined the Aquanaut faction. Behind that, a cargo bay for storing crystals is followed by a rear cabin with the classic long, sloping cockpit canopy originally made for Space.
