From Santa to snowmen, yetis to elves, there is no shortage of festive inspired LEGO minifigures. In fact, it’s getting to the point where the designers are having to be really creative to stay original. The holidays are always a time of excitement to see who might get a Christmas makeover in the latest sdvent calendar release or Black Friday polybag. With multiple themes decking the halls, there’s been everything from a galaxy-hopping alien Santa to A Christmas Carol.

Santa Yoda (7598 Star Wars Advent Calendar)
In the Star Wars galaxy, they have their own take on Christmas, fondly known as Life Day, which started not so fondly with the original Star Wars Holiday Special (not the much more recent LEGO version on Disney+). So, it’s been a tradition in the Star Wars advent calendars to have a character take on the red suit of Santa. In 2011, that was Yoda, inspired by a classic Ralph McQuarrie illustrated Christmas card . Although he may use The Clone Wars head mould he still looks amazing, with a candy cane tucked into his belt and a sack of gifts for the Jedi Padawans.
Ebenezer Scrooge (40410 Charles Dickens Tribute)
Is there a more classic holiday tale than A Christmas Carol? 40410 Charles Dickens Tribute captures the essence of the story so perfectly, and is a cranky, old Ebenezer Scrooge as a unique minifigure. Sporting a very detailed waistcoat printed torso, along with the newer top hat element, the businessman looks very dapper. His face print is a great balance between kindly and exasperated, especially the raised brow above Scrooge’s wire-framed spectacles. No collector could say ‘bah, humbug’ to this minifigure!

Gingerbread Man (71002 Collectible Minifigure Series 11)
The smells of cinnamon, ginger and warming sugar wafting from Christmas baking doesn’t get much better than gingerbread people. Iced and topped with decorations, they’re cute and tasty, just like Gingerbread Man from Collectible Minifigure Series 11. He’s deceptively simple but with really authentic printing giving him a biscuit texture, plus the brilliant pun on his coffee mug making him even more fun.
Mrs Claus (10245 Santa’s Workshop)
Second in command for North Pole operations, Mrs Claus is just as important as the big guy himself. She made her debut back in 10245 Santa’s Workshop from the Winter Village theme in 2014, looking like she’s stepped right out of Christmas Vogue, with a decadently printed outfit featuring holly appliqué, candy canes and lace trim. If all that wasn’t festive enough, she finished it off with a striking red cape and a plate of cookies.

Christmas Jumper Tony Stark (76196 Marvel Advent Calendar)
Whoever thought to put Tony Stark (a.k.a Ironman) in a Christmas jumper, is as much of a genius as the inventor extraordinaire himself. It’s not something Marvel fans could easily imagine him doing, unless to dare Captain America, yet it works. A snowflake uses Tony’s arc-reactor as its centre, framed on either side by Christmas trees in a geometric pattern to look knitted. And of course, there’s Iron Man helmets subtly placed in the weave too for some Stark Industries product placement.
Elf Girl (10275 Elf Club House)
10275 Elf Club House naturally comes with a lot of elves, but one of the best is the little Elf Girl. Cheery eyes and freckled cheeks give her a jolly expression, whilst her hat adds those iconic pointed ears. While there have been LEGO elves in the past, the ones in 10275 have had quite the outfit upgrade, from scalloped collars complete with gold bells to matching belts. The Elf Girl even has a cosy scarf so she can help out the reindeer in the snow.

Elsa (71024 Disney Collectible Minifigure Series 2)
Okay, so technically Elsa is an ice queen rather than anything festive, but Frozen has pretty much become a Christmas staple at this point. Although the Queen of Arendelle has had numerous mini-doll incarnations, it’s her version from Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 2 that’s making this list. Everything about Elsa is unique, including her ice gem torso, embroidery on the sleeves and a gorgeous snowflake printed cape. Her hair is not quite as platinum like in the film, but her iconic over-the-shoulder braid completes her transformation into queen of the ice and snow perfectly.
Santa Claus (10293 Santa’s Visit)
Of course this list wouldn’t be complete without Santa Claus! While there have been many iterations of him over the last two decades, his latest minifigure in 10293 Santa’s Visit is certainly the best. Dual-moulded legs give him shiny, black boots, whilst his red coat has pearl-gold button detailing. A minifigure sized sack is included so he can deliver all the presents, and even his hands are white to portray gloves, so Santa can stay warm flying in the sleigh at 50,000 feet.
