LEGO Speed Champions is going back to the future with 77256 Time Machine from Back to the Future, based on the iconic DeLorean time machine from the classic trilogy.
77256 Time Machine from Back to the Future will deliver a DeLorean using 357 pieces and 2 minifigures for £22.99 / $27.99 / €27.99 and will release on January 1, 2026, with preorders open now on LEGO.com.
This new LEGO Speed Champions set recreates the beloved DeLorean from the Back to the Future films, though the set neglects the DeLorean name, likely due to either licensing or SEO issues. Slightly clunky name aside, 77256 Time Machine from Back to the Future appears to handle its subject matter very well, packing in all the necessary details and features, such as the flux capacitor, hovercraft abilities, and two seats for Marty and Doc Brown.
The DeLorean is technically a 2-in-1 model as you can turn it into a hovercraft, as seen in Back to the Future II. The conversion seems like it will require only minimal rebuilding, since the car’s frame remains the same, and will allow fans to display the DeLorean in whichever way is their favourite.

Marty McFly and Doc Brown are the set’s two included characters, both of which are new and exclusive to the set. Doc Brown is similar to the previous version that released as part of LEGO Dimensions, while Marty is a significantly different from his past iteration, mostly due to the brand-new element used for his jacket.
The last time Marty and Doc Brown appeared together in their costumes from the first film was the previous version of the DeLorean, 21103 the DeLorean Time Machine, a LEGO Ideas set from 2013. As the first minifigure scale licensed Ideas set, the original minifigures are a bit plain and the new versions appear to be a much-needed upgrade. Different versions of the characters are currently available in 10300 Back to the Future Time Machine, a large display model from LEGO Icons.
